  • About the conference

Process engineering is a fundamental discipline that plays a crucial role in the development and optimization of industrial processes. It enables the efficient, sustainable, and innovative transformation of raw materials into high-value finished products. With applications spanning industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food production, energy, and environmental management, process engineering actively contributes to addressing today’s technological and societal challenges. Moreover, it is essential for reducing the environmental footprint of industrial activities and ensuring the responsible and efficient use of natural resources.

The 1st National Seminar on Process Engineering and Industrial Development (SNGPDI’25), organized by the Department of Process Engineering at the Faculty of Technology, University of Boumerdes, serves as a dynamic forum for researchers and industry professionals to exchange ideas, foster collaborations, and showcase the latest breakthroughs in process engineering. This event also aims to drive innovation by exploring the transformative impact of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and process modeling, on industrial practices and development.

This event, considered as a space for reflection and action on industrial challenges, aims to:
    * Highlight the latest advances in process engineering and their applications in industrial development.
    * Foster synergies by creating a platform for exchange between researchers and industry professionals to promote fruitful collaborations.
    * Address industrial challenges: Identify the specific needs and challenges of industries (energy efficiency, sustainability, automation, etc.).
    * Encourage innovation: Explore how new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and process modeling, can transform industrial practices.

    NSPEID’25 Seminar Statistics

The NSPEID seminar recorded a total of 615 abstracts, reflecting strong scientific interest in the event. Among these submissions, 166 abstracts were intended for in-person participation, while 449 were submitted for online participation. This distribution highlights a clear preference for the virtual format, while still maintaining a significant number of in-person contributions.

After evaluation, the scientific committee accepted 535 abstracts, representing a large majority of the proposals.

In total, 418 abstracts were confirmed and paid for, corresponding to the contributions effectively included in the seminar’s final program. This confirmation demonstrates the strong commitment of the participants, particularly in a hybrid context
The participants represented 50 universities and schools and 4 research centers, highlighting the wide-ranging academic and research engagement in the seminar.
Regarding the presentations, 98 abstracts were ultimately presented in person, and 320 abstracts were effectively presented online. The details of the presented abstracts are shown in the histograms below.
